When searching for a string to replace the current document using the keyboard shortcut the user will be prompted for the search string as shown below:
once the search string is selected the user will be prompted for the replacement string in the status bar prompt as shown below.
If the status bar prompt is disabled or the user chooses to search via the edit menu the user will be prompted with the Replace dialog instead.
To replace a block of text from the status bar
Place the cursor at the beginning of the block of text in which the replace will be performed
Press <Ctrl + R> to activate the status bar prompt in replace mode
Type the text to search for at the Forward search prompt and press <Enter>
Type the replacement text at the Replacement prompt and press <Enter>
Select the replace mode when prompted. There are four replace modes:

Replace the current match and continue prompting at each match. |
|
Skip the current match and continue prompting at each match. |
|
Replace all matches. |
|
Cancel the search and replace operation. |
