Settings Dialog: Print Settings, General Tab

The General tab is used to configure general printing options such as the scaling of fonts, the ability to print two pages on the same output page and the appearance of colors on the output page.

Description of Components

Description

Scale fonts

The magnification factor is used to shrink the document on the output page. This is useful in combination with the Fit 2 pages per sheet.

Print to pages up

This option is used to fit two pages on a single sheet when printing the current document.

Colors

Controls the way that colors are used in the printed document. There are four settings:

  • Screen Colors - The same colors as displayed on the screen will be used when printing the document.

  • Invert Colors - This setting is useful when a dark background is used. It inverts the light value of all colors and prints the output on a white background.

  • Black on White - Prints the output as black text on a white background.

  • Color on White - Prints the document with the screen colors on a white background.

Lines

Long lines that will not fit within the print boundaries may either be truncated (Truncate) or wrapped (Word Wrap) to the next line.

Top Margin

The height of the margin at the top of the page.

Left Margin

The width of the margin at the left of the page.

Right Margin

The width of the margin at the right of the page.

Bottom Margin

The height of the margin at the bottom of the page.

Units

Controls the units used in the margin settings. The units used can be either centimeters or inches.
